First Day

On 9th July 2021 we bought the RV.

We had seen the RV for sale on eBay the week before, for about £2,700. On logging onto eBay on 9th July, the price had dropped to £1.695.

Having had our breakfast, we jumped in the car and drove about 25 miles to see the RV.

The RV was rough, very rough in fact, particularly inside, where the body had leaked seemingly for years, completely wrecking some the habitation unit interior.

The speedometer showed 53,000 miles, which was impressive. A garage worker jumped started the battery/engine, and we were immediately taken back by how quiet the engine was when it was running, and there was no smoke from the exhaust.

The propeller shaft was broken at the coupling, and we were told this happened while the vehicle was being transported to the yard. It appears the centre bearing had failed.

If we were to buy it, the vehicle would need to be lifted onto a lorry and transported, adding to the cost. We agreed to pay the £1,695 and a price for transport was arranged to our home at £250.

We were both excited to get the RV, and immediately begun making plans for what we could do with it.

The selling company were fantastic and arranged transport for the RV the same day. Equally, the transport company were fantastic, the driver of the 26 tonne recovery truck was very helpful and offloaded the RV into a place, and not an east place, that would best suit our needs for carrying out work on it.
