When we bought the RV the plastic rear wheel arch panels were in a very poor state.
The colour of the bare plastic was a cream colour that closely matched the rest of the main colour of the RV.
Also, each of the rear wheel arches accommodated a tyre-like valve on each side, used to inflate an after-market air suspension kit. The air equipment was well past its sell by date so to speak, and was beyond repair. The kit was to be removed from the vehicle, leaving the original rear suspension as factory specification.
The rear wheel arch panels were repaired using fibreglass sheet and resin. This was used to repair any holes and cracks in the plastic, but also used in sheet lengths to create some strength to the plastic.
Finally, the plastic was prepared, coated with an etch primer, and then sprayed with a classic car colour paint of Grampian Grey. We think the finish is much better than the original bare plastic colour, and this will be complimented when we apply further Grampian Grey paint in order to introduce a large body stripe on each side.
