Transformed Over Cab Bedroom

Today we show you the transformation of the over cab bedroom, from what was recently an area full of rotten wood, to what it is today, a lovely large space to sleep when away on wild camping and holiday breaks. This is the second bedroom in the motorhome.

We used pine tongue and groove wood to line the walls and ceiling of the front bedroom. All the edges of the wooden panels were filled with paintable decorators caulk. Under all the wooden pieces is insulation material, to ensure the winter cold and summer heat is kept out as much as possible.

All the pine cladding wood was then painted with vinyl silk brilliant white paint, which should help to bring lots of light into the space.

Samantha made the mattress covers out of curtains that we had at home, for which we had no further use. These were originally cream coloured and so she dyed them a grey colour.

The curtains are yet to be made by Samantha, which will also be grey in colour, and each window will have a roll up, drop down curtain.
