We have been replacing the front brake pads on our 1986 classic American Ford Econoline E350 RV today. We made a short video of the work we did, which can be found here –> https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RE_X3DEWi1c
Whilst replacing the front brake pads we took the opportunity to clean up the brake and surrounding chassis parts with a powered rotary wire brush, and then coated the parts with automotive gloss paint.
The brake pads we used were CENTRIC C-TEK Semi-Metallic brake pads, which were purchased from Rock Auto in America. The price was £9.33 plus delivery and taxes.
The brake pad feature;

- Shimmed to eliminate noise and vibration
- Formulated for reduced noise
- Semi-Metallic compound
- Post cured for consistent performance throughout the service life of the brake pad
- 100% Asbestos and Copper free formulas
We noticed that the brake calliper piston dust covers had perished with age, and so we will be ordering new protective rubbers in the coming weeks, when we get our next order together.
The anti-roll bar bushes are also perished, but we already have these on order, and will arrive very soon.
