Cannock Chase Woodland – Stile Cop

We had a lovely day during the June Bank holiday having a motorhome picnic in the woodland setting of Stile Cop at Cannock Chase.

The Stile Cop car park we used is free of charge, with easy access to some lovely woodland walks.

There is a sign at the entrance to the car park saying, “No overnight tents or caravans” but as Rob The Builder pointed out, the sign does not appear to prohibit overnight stops for motorhomes or campervans.

In the immediate area there are several BMX / Mountain bike trails and for the most part the car park is used by people who bring bikes to use in the woods.

The weather was very kind to us, with plenty of sunshine for the time we were there. Samantha prepared a lovely salad lunch, and sandwiches and crisps too.

For the first time, we tried to use an electric kettle in the RV, using our leisure battery bank power and solar power through the invertor. However, the invertor didn’t take too kindly to the high electrical load, and refused to work under such load. Thankfully, our back-up was the LPG and so we boiled some water on the gas hob, and a number of lovely cuppas were had by all.
